Glacial Erratics
If you've heard me read lately, it was likely from my current work-in-progress, a novel project that studies the polarized discourse about faith and doubt. As I'm working on this novel, I'm going to be releasing a semi-annual publication of works-in-progress. It includes writing excerpts, thoughts on where I am in the writing process, notebook pages, and work from another writer and an illustrator who's work I admire.
In the first issue of Glacial Erratics, I've got three different approaches I had considered for the beginning of the book, a favorite scene that I wrote fairly early in the novel conceptualization, the gorgeous woodcut artwork of Liza Brawn, poetry by Correy Baldwin, as well as a conversation between Correy and myself about how the terrain of our hometown influences our work in different ways. It even includes typos, for that authentic 'work-in-progress' feel. It's beautifully designed by my wife Janine, and can be read as a small journal, and then unfolded and hung on your wall to admire Lisa's artwork.
You can now purchase this first issue of Glacial Erratics online, or get a subscription which includes the first issue and at least seven more.
